Discrimination, bias, and exclusion still persist in modern workplaces
across Europe. The “VOICES UNITED” Professional Development
Activity brings together youth workers and young people from eight
countries to raise awareness, exchange ideas, and build skills around
workplace diversity, inclusion, and human rights.

THE PROJECT AIMS TO

Raise awareness among youth workers about workplace discrimination and help them reflect on their own biases
Strengthen the capacity of youth organizations to foster inclusive, accessible environments
Provide knowledge and tools to promote diversity and equal opportunities in employment
Encourage collaboration between youth workers and organizations from across Europe, united in the mission to promote social inclusion

Expected outcomes:

During the program, participants:

Enhanced personal, social, and professional awareness of diversity, inclusion, and youth empowerment among participants.
Creation of strong cooperation networks between partner organizations and sharing of tools and practices.
Improved quality of activities and policies related to inclusion and diversity management in youth organizations.
Broader awareness of the importance of representation, safety, and voice for all social groups in professional and societal contexts.

The Voices United project highlighted the importance of values such as empathy, solidarity, voice, and the recognition of human complexity. Through a combination of introspection and collective exploration, it strengthened participants’ capacity and commitment to contribute to more inclusive and human-centered spaces — both within youth organizations and in society at large.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY

Professional Development Activities are one of the actions and activities supported by Erasmus + Programme. Professional development activities are meetings of groups of young people, from at least two different countries, who gather for a short period to implement jointly a non-formal learning programme (a mix of workshops, exercises, debates, role-plays, simulations, outdoor activities, etc.) on a topic of their interest, seeking inspiration from the European Youth Goals, in order to exchange experiences and learn skills and competences outside their formal educational system.
